EMIGRATING OR MOVING ABROAD?
You will almost definitely need to take a copy of your General Practitioner Medical Records with you to lodge with a service or medical insurer in your new country of residence.
Many medical insurers WILL NOT INSURE you unless you can provide them with PROOF of your previous medical history.
In some countries you are expected to keep your own medical records and should you need medical care, your previous records will be needed by attending and treating healthcare professionals.
Please make sure you request copies of your records before you leave the country.
There will be a charge for the copying process, but it will be worthwhile. It will mean you will not have to try to make arrangements for your records to be sent abroad, a process that will take much longer and be much more costly as it will incur a substantial shipping charge.
Please ask for more details at reception.
